Producer Terms of Service
Effective from the date of account approval.
1. Commission & Payouts
mBeatz Africa retains a 10% commission on every sale made through the platform. You keep 90%.
Payouts are processed every Monday for the previous week's sales. Payments are made via M-Pesa to the phone number registered on your producer profile.
A minimum balance of KES 100 is required before a payout is processed. Balances below this threshold roll over to the following week.
2. Originality & Clearances
You warrant that all beats uploaded are your original work. You must hold full rights to all elements, including any samples used. Beats containing uncleared third-party samples are strictly prohibited.
mBeatz Africa reserves the right to unpublish any beat and withhold associated payouts if a rights claim is made against it.
3. Licensing Model
mBeatz operates a two-tier licensing model:
- MP3 Lease — Standard tier. Your beat can be leased to unlimited buyers at the MP3 Lease price. The beat remains live indefinitely.
- WAV License — One buyer only. When sold, the beat is automatically unpublished. The buyer receives full full usage rights.
Once a WAV License is sold, you may not sell or license the same beat elsewhere.
4. Platform Rights
mBeatz Africa reserves the right to:
- Unpublish any beat without notice if it violates these terms.
- Suspend or terminate a producer account for violations, fraud, or abuse.
- Feature, promote, or display your beats and producer profile across mBeatz marketing channels.
5. Producer Responsibilities
- Keep your M-Pesa phone number current in your dashboard.
- Respond to buyer disputes through the mBeatz support process.
- Do not attempt to transact with buyers outside the platform to circumvent commission.
- Market your profile page actively — mBeatz provides the platform, you drive your traffic.
6. Account Suspension
Accounts may be suspended for: fraudulent activity, repeated rights violations, circumventing platform payments, or abusive conduct toward buyers.
Suspended accounts forfeit any pending payout balances under KES 500.
7. Disputes
All disputes will first be addressed by mBeatz support. If unresolved, disputes are subject to Kenyan law.
8. Changes to Terms
mBeatz Africa may update these terms at any time. Producers will be notified by email. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
